It involves wearing specific clothing and adhering to a set of rules and prohibitions. The word &#8222;Ihram&#8220; also refers to the simple garments worn during this state. Below is a comprehensive guide to Ihram:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Preparation for Ihram<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Purity and Cleansing<\/strong>: Before entering the state of Ihram, pilgrims should take a full-body purification bath (ghusl) or perform ablution (wudu). This symbolizes spiritual and physical cleanliness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clipping Nails and Hair<\/strong>: It is recommended to clip nails, trim mustaches, and remove unwanted body hair before donning Ihram garments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Ihram Garments<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For Men<\/strong>: Men wear two unstitched white sheets of cloth. Common Misconceptions about Ihram<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Color of Ihram Garments<\/strong>: While white is the traditional color for Ihram garments, the key requirement is that the garments be plain and unstitched. The color itself is not obligatory.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Footwear<\/strong>: Men can wear sandals that do not cover the ankles or the top part of the foot. Women can wear any type of footwear that is comfortable and modest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6. Exiting Ihram<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pilgrims exit the state of Ihram after completing certain rituals of Hajj or Umrah.
